Two experts. One passion. Zero apologies.

People called us Bubble Wrap Moms like it was a punchline.

We decided to make it a mission.

Bubble Wrap Moms was founded by Emilie and Amanda — two Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician Instructors with backgrounds in occupational therapy, education, injury prevention, and advocacy.

We take safety very seriously. Ourselves? Not so much.

The name ‘Bubble Wrap Moms’ stuck because it captured something real. When safety beyond the bare minimum isn’t expected, ‘overprotective’ becomes an insult. We live in a culture where outdated advice goes unchallenged and higher standards get dismissed as excessive — and that culture doesn’t start at home, it starts at the top. Most organizations aren’t getting it wrong because they don’t care. They’re getting it wrong because accurate, accessible, subject matter expert-level guidance hasn’t been easy to find.

We built Bubble Wrap Moms to change that.

There's a family story that explains a lot about how we approach this work. Emilie's grandfather, Dr. Edward C. Taylor, was a Princeton chemist whose research into butterfly wing pigments — of all things — eventually led to his creation of an FDA-approved cancer treatment now used worldwide. He didn't set out to save lives. He set out to get it right. The belief that knowledge — done right and shared widely — can protect people isn't just professional for us. It's personal. Ted's legacy of passionate research and education is a big part of why we believe so deeply in this work.

We work with organizations whose training, messaging, and decisions can influence safety across the lifespan — directly and indirectly. If what your organization puts out into the world reaches individuals, families, or the communities they serve, we can help you get it right. We're overthinking, so you don't have to.

Emilie Christensen

CPSTI & Licensed Teacher

Emilie doesn’t sugarcoat safety — she makes it make sense. As a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician Instructor and licensed teacher, she’s trained everyone from new parents to hospital teams to rethink what ‘good enough’ looks like. Emilie brings classroom skills, real‑world parenting, and a deep love of data together to help organizations build safety practices that actually stick.

Amanda Schafter

Equal parts clinician, advocate, and the most thorough friend you’ve ever had, Amanda is a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician Instructor and licensed occupational therapy assistant. She’s spent years working with families, providers, and systems that support neurodivergent and medically complex kids, turning complex safety guidance into tools people can actually use.

Our background in occupational therapy and education ensures that high-level safety standards are practical and sustainable. We transform complex regulations into measurable safety outcomes for hospitals, schools, and childcare organizations.

Specialized expertise in injury prevention across the lifespan in diverse organizational systems.
